This academic year's final Sunday at CTU took place on June 7. Sr. Sallie Latkovich, CSJ, delivered the lecture, and Fr. Gil Ostdiek, OFM, celebrated the liturgy. Sr. Sallie is the Director of CTU's Summer Institute and the Biblical Study and Travel Program as well as serving as an adjunct professor. She spoke on "What is Spirituality Anyway?," sharing her reflections on the rise in individuals identifying as "spiritual but not religious" and on the meaning of the word "spirituality." We were pleased that many of the Summer Institute students and distance learners were able to join us for this engaging lecture and liturgy.

This week we sent forth CTU's newest class of graduates! Coming from across the United States and 23 countries worldwide, this year’s graduates brought many diverse cultures and life experiences to their studies at CTU. They are united, however, in their extraordinary promise, commitment to faith, and devotion to lives of service. At this year's commencement, CTU was honored to present Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle with an Honorary Doctorate in Theology and Teresita "Teri" L. Nuval with an Honorary Doctorate in Ministry. We heard the inspiring words (and a poem, too!) from graduate Melissa Carnall, recognized the distinguished career of retiring CTU Professor Rev. Stephen Bevans, SVD, and celebrated the announcement of a new CTU Certificate in Asian Pastoral Theology and Ministry.
