The international character of CTU is one of the school’s strongest features. International students add greatly to the culture and spirit of CTU, as well as to the classroom experience.
The International Students Program welcomes and supports new independent international students. The program offers support to new students in the areas of accompaniment, community building, and basic orientation about some practical aspects of life in the new culture.
Providing a combination of practical advice and social activities, the services offered include: international student orientation (supplements the CTU general orientation and addresses the specific needs of international students); assistance obtaining a Social Security Card and State of Illinois Driver’s License or State ID; preparing occasional liturgies, and social gatherings and excursions. Consult the Student Handbook (PDF, Section 9) for more information on international students.
The main emphasis of this office is to help new students participate in building a support community together. The independent international students’ community (ISC) includes both international and volunteer local students interested in supporting international students. ISC has an organizing team, which includes the coordinator, a student assistant and volunteers, that meets regularly to discuss students’ needs, and plan and organize events.
