ATS to conduct a decennial reaccreditation review of CTU
On September 26-29, 2011, the Association of Theological Schools of the United States and Canada (ATS) will conduct a decennial reaccreditation review of Catholic Theological Union. ATS is the official accrediting body for the school and it conducts this comprehensive review every ten years for member schools. Protocols for the visitation encourage the school being reviewed to notify its wider public about this process.
Over the past year and a half, CTU itself has been preparing for the visit by creating a comprehensive self-study that has been made available to ATS and the visiting team. This is a valuable opportunity for the school to do a thorough assessment of its current status in the light of its mission and to identify areas of strength and needed improvement. We are grateful to the team of peer reviewers who will be visiting the school and sharing their expertise with us.
If any of our constituents and colleagues in other institutions wish to offer comments to the visiting team in the course of CTU’s review, they are welcome to contact the Chair of the visiting team, Rev. Ronald Mercier, SJ, firstname.lastname@example.org.
