Join us as we bring our Season of Welcome to a beautiful close with the century-old tradition of uniting Scripture and song for a special Advent celebration. RSVP by December 6 at or call 773.371.5410.

The Festival of Lessons and Carols is a service of Christian worship celebrating the birth of Jesus. The story of the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus is told in several short Bible readings from Genesis, the prophetic books and the Gospels, interspersed with the singing of Christmas carols, hymns and choir music.

The original liturgy began in England in the Anglican tradition, but has since been adapted and used by other churches all over the world, and has become a much loved Advent celebration for Roman Catholics.

Reception follows. Complimentary on-site parking provided.

Free to the public.
