Rev. Peter C. Phan is a priest of the diocese of Dallas, Texas. Born in Vietnam, he holds doctoral degrees in Philosophy and Divinity from the University of London and in Sacred Theology from the Salesian Pontifical University, Rome.
Fr. Phan has served taught around the world, including Don Bosco College in Hong Kong, Salesian College, Dalat, Vietnam, the University of Dallas, Irving, and the Catholic University, Washington, DC. He has served on the board of the Catholic Theological Society of America, and as a member of the Council on Theological Scholarship and Research for the Association of Theological Schools. Fr. Phan is currently the Ignacio Ellacuria Professor of Theology at Georgetown University, Washington, DC.
The 2010 recipient of the John Courtney Murray Award, he is author of numerous articles and books, including the The Asian Synod (Orbis Books) and Vietnamese American Catholics (Paulist Press) and serves as General Editor of the Theology in Global Perspective Series from Orbis and the Pastoral Spirituality Series from Paulist.
