Fall Biblical Studies Program

Catholic Theological Union invites you to join a 40-year tradition of travel and study in the lands of the biblical heritage. From the Sea of Galilee to the Parthenon, these programs will foster your spiritual growth as biblical history comes to life.

Early Christian Origins, Departs August 13; Returns August 31, 2016
* (Part A of the Fall Biblical Studies Program)

Director: Laurie Brink, OP, Associate Professor of New Testament Studies

Itinerary: Two weeks in Greece and Turkey, focusing on Paul’s ministry

Cost: $3,500 plus airfare. Based on double occupancy and includes half-board, entrance fees, gratuities, guiding, and ground transportation. Does not include roundtrip airfare from Chicago, lunches, drinks, visas, or any expenses incurred for events outside of the scheduled program. Single occupancy, where possible, is an additional $850. Optional graduate academic credit (3 semester hours) is available without extra cost. Non-refundable deposit of $250 due with application (deducted from total).

The Middle East — Israel and Palestine, Departs Aug. 30; Returns Oct. 7, 2016

Director: Leslie Hoppe, OFM, Carroll Stuhlmueller, CP, Distinguished Professor of Old Testament Studies

Itinerary: Five-week trip to Israel and Palestine

Cost: $6,500 plus airfare. Based on double occupancy, half-board, entrance fees, gratuities, guiding, and ground transportation. Graduate academic credit (6 semester hours) is available without extra cost. Does not include roundtrip airfare from Chicago, lunches, drinks, visas, or any expenses incurred for events outside of the scheduled program. Single occupancy, where possible, is an additional $800. Non-refundable deposit of $250 due with application (deducted from total).

The Middle East — Jordan Departs Oct. 5; Returns Oct. 17, 2016

Director: Leslie Hoppe, OFM, Carroll Stuhlmueller, CP, Distinguished Professor of Old Testament Studies

Itinerary: One week trip to Jordan (arrive in Jerusalem Oct. 5; to Jordan Oct. 6–13); return to Jerusalem Oct. 13.

Cost: $2,250 plus airfare. Based on double occupancy, half-board, entrance fees, gratuities, guiding, and ground transportation. Graduate academic credit (3 semester hours) is available without extra cost. Does not include roundtrip airfare from Chicago, lunches, drinks, visas, or any expenses incurred for events outside of the scheduled program. Single occupancy, where possible, is an additional $400. Non-refundable deposit of $250 due with application (deducted from total).
