Lectures in this course are designed to introduce participants to current theologies of the relationship of body, mind, and spirit, as well as to the wide range of scienti c research that is exploring the interplay among these dimensions of human being. Latin American liberation theology has gone through several stages over the past 50 years, from its initial articulation in the 60s and 70s, to a critical backlash in the 80s, to a proliferation of new voices and concerns in the 90s, and now, to what many see as a tacit acceptance by Pope Francis. How should we make sense of liberation theology today? What is its legacy, and how can people of faith continue to engage it in the next 50 years?
