Join us for an evening of music and fun supporting the Peacebuilders Initiative.
Since 2001, more than 500 high school juniors and seniors from the Chicagoland area have participated in this innovative program, which prepares youth for active leadership roles in peacemaking and reconciliation. They bring the theology and ministry they experience back to their schools, neighborhoods, and parishes through student-led peace projects.

Every summer, Catholics On Call hosts an annual four-day program at Catholic Theological Union (CTU) in Chicago. This experience is designed for women and men (ages 18 to 30) who may be thinking about a life of service in the Church as a lay minister, religious sister or brother, or priest, and those who are undecided and want guidance in determining how God is calling them.

The intensely troubling story of Abraham's near-sacrifice of Isaac has been central in Jewish thought and biblical interpretation. Jewish thinkers in ancient, medieval and modern times have used this story to think about questions like the meaning and purpose of sacrifice, the nature of Divine mercy, and even to call into question God's justice. This lecture will show how midrashic and medieval interpretation made this story a Jewish one, deeply connected to Jewish ritual, practice, history and hope.
Complimentary parking available in the CTU garage.
