John Paul Lederach is one of the world’s leading figures in conflict transformation. Along with more technical treatises on the subject, he has written several books about what might be called the underlying spirituality of an effective peacebuilder. This event will feature a conversation between Lederach and CTU Professor Robert Schreiter, CPPS, about how Lederach’s thinking on this subject has been developing since his landmark book, The Moral Imagination: The Art and Soul of Building Peace.

These reflect not just political differences but often profoundly different theologies of the land of Israel and the biblical promises. Dr. Gregerman will explore, from a Jewish perspective, the tensions between contemporary Christians’ broadly positive reappraisals of Judaism and more controversial Christian views of the state of Israel and biblical texts on land and covenant.

Professor Mark Nanos of the University of Kansas will provide a lecture titled "Translating Paul in the Light of NOSTRA AETATE."  Mark D. Nanos (Ph.D. University of St. Andrews), is a Jewish scholar who specializes on reading the Apostle Paul from within Judaism, an approach that offers new ways to conceptualize Paul’s teaching and communities as well as the potential for more promising Christian-Jewish relations.
