CHICAGO [April 16, 2013] At a meeting of the Board of Trustees of Catholic Theological Union (CTU) in Chicago on April 15, 2013, the Rev. Mark R. Francis, C.S.V., was elected to the presidency of CTU. In accepting the post, he succeeds the Rev. Donald Senior, C.P., who is retiring from the office on June 30, 2013. Fr. Senior served as the president of CTU for a total of 23 years. He is scheduled to return to the faculty as Professor of New Testament Studies in the fall of 2013.

Chicago, IL (April 8, 2013) The 2013 Touchstone Award will be presented to Passionist priest, the Rev. Donald Senior, C.P., who is the current president of Catholic Theological Union (CTU) in Chicago. Fr. Senior has been the president of CTU for 23 years, and is also a professor of New Testament Studies. Of the award Fr. Senior said, “To be honored by my fellow priests in this way touches me deeply. I am grateful for my years of priesthood and the many opportunities I have had to be of service. Thank you, National Federation of Priests' Councils--an organization I greatly admire.”

Catholic Theological Union formally announced on December 14, 2012, that it is seeking a new president to succeed the Rev. Donald Senior, C.P., who is retiring from the office at the end of the academic year, June 30, 2013, after 23 years of service. Applications must be submitted to CTU by February 15, 2013.

Chicago, IL (Nov. 14, 2012) The Rev. Donald Senior, C.P., announced today that he will retire as president of Catholic Theological Union at the end of the 2012-2013 academic year. A noted biblical scholar and a leader in the field of theological education, he has served as president for 23 years.

CHICAGO–September 12, 2012– In a rare opportunity to view more than 40 works of famed artist-reporter Franklin McMahon, the Mary-Frances and Bill Veeck Art Gallery at Catholic Theological Union (CTU) in Hyde Park will host a special exhibit of McMahon’s on-site paintings and drawings, including dozens that depict events and scenes from the Second Vatican Council, as well as several from the civil rights movement.

CHICAGO–September 5, 2012–The Second Vatican Council is widely heralded as one of the most momentous gatherings in the history of the Roman Catholic Church. Honoring the 50th anniversary of the convening of Vatican II by Pope John XXIII in October of 1962, and in celebration of CTU’s own roots in the expansive vision of the Council, a series of 11 lectures exploring Vatican II will begin on Wednesday, September 12, 2012, from 7-8:15 p.m.

Chicago, IL, June 5, 2012—The Board of Trustees of Catholic Theological Union (CTU) will honor prominent Chicagoans, Renée and Lester Crown and Shirley and Patrick Ryan, at the annual Blessed are the Peacemakers dinner on Wednesday, June 20, 2012. Honorary Chairs for this year’s event are Francis Cardinal George, O.M.I., Archbishop of Chicago, and Mayor Rahm Emanuel.

CHICAGO, IL—Catholic Theological Union in Chicago (CTU) is pleased to announce that the Commission on Accrediting of the Association of Theological Schools has reaffirmed the accreditation of the school and all its graduate degree programs, effective February 2012.

Chicago, IL, February 2, 2012--The Council of Religious Leaders of Metropolitan Chicago (CRLMC) has unanimously elected Rev. Donald Senior, C.P., as the new Council President for the years 2012 and 2013.  He succeeds Imam Kareem Irfan from the Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago.

Chicago, IL, Oct. 5, 2011—Catholic Theological Union (CTU), the largest Roman Catholic graduate school of theology and ministry in the United States, and DePaul University, the largest Catholic university in the United States, announced that they are forming an educational alliance.
