Independent Sabbatical

Design a Sabbatical

The Independent Sabbatical is an individually designed educational and cultural experience providing you with an array of opportunities.  While residing at CTU, you create your own schedule; take part in courses and programs at Catholic Theological Union; attend lectures and workshops at the four Hyde Park theological schools,  Loyola University, Northwestern University, and many other Chicago institutions of higher learning; explore the countless cultural resources of Chicago; and worship and pray in the global community of faith at CTU.

Please note: those seeking an independent sabbatical do not need to fill out a Hesburgh Program application. Instead, they are asked to complete the CTU Application for Admission requirements for Continuing Education - for audit students. To view these requirements and to access the application, please click here.
