“Dangerous Religious Ideas:” Bernardin Center’s Winter Shapiro Lecture
All are welcome on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 for the Bernardin Center’s Winter Shapiro Lecture, “Dangerous Religious Ideas: Wrestling with the Role of Religion in Society.” Speaker Rabbi Rachel Mikva, Ph.D. will explore how various biblical interpretations have been used to shape religious ideas and the impact they have on society. Rabbi Mikva currently serves as Assistant Professor and Rabbi Schaalman Chair of Jewish Studies at Chicago Theological Seminary (CTS).
The lecture will take place at 4 p.m. on the second floor of the Academic and Conference Center, 5416 S. Cornell Avenue, and will be followed by a reception. Complimentary parking is available.
