Management Skills for Ministry
The Management Skills for Ministry seminars, developed for and targeted to those in ministry, are offered throughout the year. The seminars focus on six significant areas of pastoral administration that are necessary in running any organization. Taught in an interactive style by experts and practitioners in each field, they present foundational principles and give practical information on the following topics:
- Leadership Styles
- Workplace Relationships
- Personnel Issues
- Financial and Facilities Management
- Public Relations and Marketing
- Stewardship and Fundraising.
Through these seminars, pastoral leaders learn how to:
- Understand their stewardship responsibility for ministry resources--people, money, facilities, and property;
- Develop a basic knowledge of pastoral administration in order to work collaboratively with staff and colleagues.
While the
seminars are a requirement of the M.Div.degree program, they are also open to others who wish to take them for graduate credit or as individual workshops for continuing education..
