The Director: Sheila McLaughlin

Sheila McLaughlin, a graduate of Catholic Theological Union, has served as the Director of the Joseph Cardinal Bernardin Center since 2001. Previous to this position, Sheila was the Director of the Office for Divine Worship for the Archdiocese of Chicago, the first lay person to hold that position.

She serves as a member of the National Committee for the Common Ground Initiative, and as a board member for the Siena Center at Dominican University, the Precious Blood Center for Reconciliation and the Benebikura Sisters Foundation. She is also a liturgical consultant for Cristo Rey High School.

In 2001 she received the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice Award from Pope John Paul II for outstanding service “for the church and the pontiff.”
