Innovative curriculum
The CTU degree programs curriculum models the interrelatedness of the various theological and ministerial disciplines and interweaves theory with practice. The result is a holistic graduate theological education that prepares women and men for effective ministry in an increasingly global society.
Bechtold Library
Holds 150,000 volumes, including 500 current periodicals. Special collections in mission studies, history of religions, homiletics, religious education, Christian art, Morenna, religious life, and Franciscan studies.
Bernardin Center
Continues the work of the late Cardinal Joseph Bernardin through an array of programs (scholarships, lectures, conferences, symposia) in reconciliation and peacemaking, interreligious dialogue, and the consistent ethic of life.
Study abroad
Our renowned biblical faculty lead annual trips to Israel/Palestine, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, and Greece, as part of a 30-year tradition of study and travel in the lands of the Bible.

Religious life
CTU is entrusted with the theological education for 32 men’s religious communities. One in every six religious order priests ordained in the United States today is a CTU graduate.

Peacemakers award
Honors leaders in peacemaking and reconciliation, including Israel’s Lea Rabin, Nobel laureate John Hume of Northern Ireland, Queen Noor of Jordan, the Vatican’s Cardinal Walter Kasper, filmmaker Steven Spielberg, and Jean Vanier.
Young Catholic Leaders
The Peacebuilders Initiative and Catholics On Call programs serve high school, college, and post-college age young people, opening their hearts and minds to a life of service in the church.
